Section 3: Hazards Identification

 

DANGER! CORROSIVE. Causes burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes.

 

EYES: Corrosive to the eyes and may cause severe damage including blindness.

 

SKIN: Corrosive to skin.

 

INGESTION: Ingestion causes burns of the upper digestive and respiratory tracts.

 

INHALATION: May cause irritation of respiratory tract.

 

Section 4: First Aid Measures

 

EYE CONTACT: Immediately flush with plenty of water. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15

minutes. Call a physician immediately

 

SKIN CONTACT: Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician immediately

 

INGESTION: Do not induce vomiting. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water. Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person

 

INHALATION: Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If symptoms persist, call a physician

FIRE HAZARD: Will burn if dried and heated with a flame. The product causes burns of eyes, skin and mucous membranes. Thermal

decomposition can lead to release of irritating gases and vapors.

 

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

 

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent) and full

protective gear.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective equipment.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer

system. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillage cannot be contained.

 

CLEAN UP: Soak up with inert absorbent material. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
